My husband has a great financial mind. He knows how to stretch a dollar and make $20 look like $100. I love him for this quality. Before we were married he saved $25,000 for a down payment on a house. It helped that he was 27 and lived at home before we married. I on the other hand, I love to shop. I shop when I'm happy, sad, bored, or what ever other mood strikes me. My Mom trained me in the art of shopping the sales. Unfortunately, if I have a great coupon, I buy something whether I need it or not. Don't get me wrong, I'm not completely irresponsible. I do know my limits. My limits are just different than Russ'.
So, about a month ago, I gave Russ all of my credit cards and told him to hide them. This was incredibly hard to give control over to him since I am a huge control freak. He is giving me an allotted amount of cash every week for all the household expenses. I am trying to turn over a new leaf. So far so good. I will update you on our progress. Hopefully we can save up some money for a nice trip.

I'm a control freak like you. I can already feel the anxiety building up in my chest over you giving up your credit cards.
But I am sure that it is a good idea. Good luck
